How to Verify Genuine Samsung Phones in Nepal
Follow this buyer checklist to ensure your phone is an official Nepal variant backed by manufacturer warranty:
- Check Importer Hologram: Every official Samsung smartphone box in Nepal displays a holographic seal from either IMS or Him Electronics. Never accept an unsealed package.
- Verify MDMS Registration: Dial
*#06#to retrieve your 15-digit IMEI. Visit the official NTA MDMS verification portal to confirm registration status. Official importer units are pre-registered automatically. - Insist on a Printed VAT Bill: Always obtain a stamped, printed VAT invoice from your retail vendor. Without a VAT bill, authorized Samsung service centers will decline warranty repairs.
- Utilize Free Doorstep Service: Samsung Nepal provides free device pick-up and delivery for warranty repairs within Kathmandu Valley and major metropolitan regions.
